Texans' Bradley Roby picks off Patriots' Tom Brady in first game back - mySA

Published

When Texans cornerback Bradley Roby strained his hamstring against the Kansas City Chiefs, he knew it was serious immediately.

The Grade 2 strain wound up costing the former Denver Broncos first-round draft pick five games. Roby said this week that a setback could have sidelined him for the remainder of the season, so he had to proceed cautiously.

Roby made an impact Sunday night in his first game back in the starting lineup. He intercepted New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, jamming 6-4, 225-pound rookie wide receiver N'Keal Harry and aggressively positioning himself to undercut the throw.

Roby returned the interception 22 yards. He was so excited that he celebrated by taking his helmet off, drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct flag.

And Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson capitalized on the turnover, throwing a 14-yard touchdown pass to running back Duke Johnson to take a 7-3 lead in the first quarter.
