O.J. Simpson was a Super Bowl 2020 no show for NFL 100 honor - New York Post

O.J. Simpson made his daily appearance on Twitter, but not at Super Bowl 2020 to be honored as part of the NFL 100.

That may be due to Simpson’s parole stemming from his kidnapping and robbery charges. The former running back, who was tried for the murder of his wife in the infamous trial and found not guilty, lives in Las Vegas and is only permitted short trips to Florida to visit his family, according to The Guardian.

So Simpson did not make the trip to Miami on Sunday to be on the field pregame as one of the greatest 100 players in the history of the game. The former Bill and 49er was one of 12 running backs named to the team.

The 72-year-old did take to Twitter on Sunday morning to wish people a happy Super Bowl Sunday.

“I’m going to a real super Super Bowl party,” Simpson said.

Simpson said the game between the 49ers and Chiefs was “too close to call,” but that he would be rooting for his former team. He added that he is a big Andy Reid fan and that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes might be his favorite player, alongside Giants running back Saquon Barkley.
