The NFL trade deadline is approaching quickly, officially ending today at 4 p.m. EST. Once the clock strikes, all trades will be finalized and teams will no longer be able to make any trades for the remainder of the season.
With the way things are going for the Los Angeles Rams, I’d suggest they scour the market long and hard and look to improve what could potentially be a Super Bowl contending roster. Below are three players I’d specifically target, and what a trade may look like (fun estimate).
The Rams have $5.6m in cap space currently, per Over The Cap:
Washington Redskins LT Trent Williams
This trade has been talked about too many times to count, and I won’t stop until the Rams decide not to go after Williams. The Redskins have been reluctant to trade Williams until now, though they’ve reportedly made him available and already “have a 2nd-round pick on the table” for his services. Williams is a seven-time pro bowler, one-time second-team All-Pro, has a connection with Head Coach Sean McVay (and multiple other coaches on the Rams’ staff), and will only cost $3.5m in cap this year and $14.75m in 2020. The superstar makes perfect sense as a plug-and-play option at left guard until the offseason, which will spell a move back to left tackle when Andrew Whitworth retires.

Cincinnati Bengals LT Cordy Glenn
Glenn is an underrated name not many are talking about, but should. The former Buffalo Bill and current Bengal has plenty of experience playing both left tackle and left guard, and spent two years under current Rams’ Offensive Line Coach/Run Game Coordinator Aaron Kromer, which is coincidentally when Glenn was at his best. Glenn is a 30-year old who has yet to play this year due to a concussion. Glenn would cost roughly $4.5m on the cap now and $9.5m in 2020 and could immediately upgrade the left guard spot, sending rookie David Edwards to right guard.

Atlanta Falcons C Alex Mack
The Falcons shouldn’t have any interest in moving Mack, though they’re a terrible football team and the 33-year-old is absolutely running out of time. Mack is a six-time pro bowler and three-time second-team All-Pro. Mack would instantaneously improve the Rams’ offensive line by leaps and bounds, and would cost roughly $5.5m on the cap now and $10.55m in 2020. General Manager Les Snead and Falcons’ General Manager Thomas Dimitroff have a long relationship, helping any potential deals.
